Birds August 2012

Just a few of the many birds we saw while touring back roads of the east coast.  Top shows a bald eagle perched high in a tree.  We walked through a farm field to get closer for that picture.  Next was a family of turkeys.  They are so dumb. Just kept walking down the road in front of our car until they got to the "correct" pathway to duck into the bush. They are lucky that dirt road doesn't see much traffic or they would all be turkey dinner. The last 2 pictures shown here were an Osprey nest located over a river and 3 of the babies were perched on the wires along the road near the nest (only 2 of them made it into my closeup shot).  We watched wondering if they were learning to fish but they got scared off before they had a chance to do any fishing.
