Front flowerbed

Some new picture of the front flowerbed(a little dull due to lack of sunshine). The roses have recovered quite well from the early season attack of little green caterpillars which ate most of their leaves....nasty little critters. The Spoon Daisies we drove everywhere to find are not currently in bloom although it seems they will likely have lots more blooms to come and I will try to remember to take some picture then.

Out back things are doing very well too. We have been eating zucchini almost daily and our four tomato plants are loaded with growing green tomatoes so when they ripen I'm sure I will eating tons of them too. Lately I have been gorging on fresh u-pick blueberries from local farms and baby cucumbers which we stop at a local farm market to buy.

Natalie and her little ones

Nat finally updated her blog so I stole a couple of her uploaded pictures to post here. Look how big little Sammy has gotten and Zoe has lost her baby face. She is quite the busy little girl, always making things to bring home from day care. Smart young lady has already learned to write her name by herself too.

Garden growing

Just a few pictures of a few of our gardens. First is the garden beside the backyard shed. The Portulaca seen here came up from last year's seed. Behind the pink one centered in the shot is a yellow mini rose...that came from Ruby and Sam on my 50th birthday. It looked GREAT a few days ago but those blooms are getting a bit brown and the new ones are just starting to open. Second picture is the Hydrangea Deb planted last year. It's beautiful blue colored blooms are hiding beside her Euanamus which has been infected with some sort of white mold(or something) mostly on underside of it's leaves. Finally is a quick shot of our very large tomato plants. I put these in a flower bed under Chris' bedroom window. Obviously they REALLY like the soil or conditions there. There are lots of little tomatoes already growing on the plants. We have already enjoyed a zucchini from the two little plants which I snuck in under our Wiegelia and I am looking forward to lots of vine ripe fresh tomatoes. Spell check says I have spelling errors on some of these plant names but hopefully you can figure out what I mean.

New England

Deb and I managed to hold up for 6 days of driving while we toured the beautiful New England states. We saw lots of HUGE estate homes and even more very old buildings while driving along enjoying the quaint stone walls. It was interesting to note the changes in construction of those walls as we moved from area to area....that must be due to the type of rocks found locally. We didn't take alot of pictures but these are a few of the ones we did remember to take.
