Albino Robin
These are pictures Deb managed to get of our local Albino Robin. This little guy has been spending his summers in West Lorne for the past few years. He hangs out around the train tracks near the "S" bend at the east side of town. As you can see, he isn't true Albino since he does have some colouring on his head. Otherwise he is shocking white which makes him easy to spot and amazing that he has lived this long. Our white winged sparrow has not returned this summer and wasn't seen at our feeder most of the winter either so she likely got eaten by something. It is a sad fact of life that Albinos are not well accepted by their peers and also they make easier prey for preditors because they stand out from the crowds.CLICK ON ANY PICTURE TO ENLARGE FOR A BETTER LOOK
