On to Manitoba
More exciting new birds for us to see. These pictures are a family of Sandhill Cranes which we found trying to hide in a field in Manitoba. We were actually in search of moose. After driving through so many northern states where I had expected to see some moose, I was sure we would find at least one in Manitoba on this very rainy day. Instead all we found we a couple of deer and lots of flooded fields along with the crane family. We did spot a couple of what we thought at the time were coyotes but since then I have had a good look at photos of wild dogs and now think we may have seen Timber wolves that day in Manitoba. So sad seeing all the flooded areas, Manitoba and Saskatchewan have had far too much rain recently.
