Quebec City

We stayed a few nights just outside of Quebec City which allowed us the luxury of touring the city in the early morning hours ahead of the crowds. There was a free concert the night we arrived which made finding a motel room rather difficult but we are lucky people and finally managed to locate a nice but not too highly priced place which turned out to be very quiet and a good location for our plans.

In the city, we took the funicular to reach the top of the city and then wandered around checking out the buildings and sights while making our way ever downward. Again, lucky people, even though we were wandering aimlessly, we arrived at river level only one short block from the lot we parked in...awesome! I am very glad we toured the city so early, I can't imagine trying to see the sights while fighting to get through crowds on sidewalks and watching for vehicles on the roads too. The buildings were beautiful with amazing detailed stonework on many and paintings and other types of art everywhere. It is great to see so much history preserved for us to enjoy.
